Advancing with Purpose

The report reflects DAMAC’s ambition to embed sustainability into every dimension of its operations and strategy. From climate action to community investment and responsible governance, DAMAC continues to align its roadmap with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and global reporting frameworks.
Mohammed Tahaineh, Chief Project Officer, DAMAC Properties, commented: “Sustainability is central to our vision for long-term value creation. We are aligning with national priorities such as the UAE’s Net Zero 2050, whilst also engaging transparently and building partnerships that amplify our collective impact. By advancing with purpose, we aim not only to shape the skylines of tomorrow, but also to contribute to a future that is more inclusive, more resilient, and more sustainable for all.”

Environmental Progress

DAMAC recorded measurable progress in reducing its environmental footprint in 2024. Scope 2 (indirect) emissions decreased, supported by efficiency measures such as optimised cooling systems and smart lighting. A growing share of DAMAC’s energy production was sourced from solar PV panels and solar water heating solutions deployed across communities. In parallel, DAMAC improved waste management and recycling systems, achieving a 47.2% increase in recycling rates and a 21% reduction in general waste. The company also enhanced its water stewardship by treating 32.8 million gallons of sewage, significantly reducing its reliance on freshwater resources for irrigation. Notable sustainability certifications underscored these efforts, with LEED Platinum awarded to DAMAC Lagoons, one of Dubai’s largest low-rise communities, and LEED Gold to DAMAC Hills 2 Community Centre, making them standout examples of sustainable design in Dubai.

Social Impact

Through the measurable progress it has achieved in 2024, DAMAC has made a meaningful impact as an active member of society. The company achieved 68.1 million safe man-hours, maintaining compliance with ISO 45001 standards and reinforcing a strong health and safety culture. Its workforce also grew to over 90 nationalities, with female representation increasing to 33%. Furthermore, the company has committed AED 150 million through the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation (HSDF) to education, healthcare, and community upliftment.

Governance and Innovation

DAMAC advanced its governance framework, reporting zero corruption cases and extending its rigorous anti-corruption training across all employees. The real estate giant invested in green construction technology, encompassing 3D printing of non-concrete materials, EV charging infrastructure, and solar integration. Partnerships with the UN Global Compact and the Emirates Green Building Council further anchored DAMAC’s commitment to transparency and global ESG alignment.
