Dubai,UAE – Transforming industrial-grade woven metal meshes into artwork and architectural design elements, the Mesh Museum hosted its first exclusive exhibition in the United Arab Emirates at Fairmont The Palm, Dubai.

Inspired by the idea of showcasing the poetic potential of engineered materials, the museum is based on the theme, ‘Where Mesh Becomes Art’, demonstrating how precision manufacturing can coexist with artistic expression and contemporary design narratives. The collection also drew inspiration from nature, movement, resilience, and cultural symbolism, which was reflected in several artworks such as Breath of Nature, Wild Elegance, Museum of the Future and Three Point Seven.

During the exhibition, S. Mohammad Karvanian, General Manager, Mesh Museum and YKM Group said, “Mesh Museum is our way of redefining how people perceive industrial mesh. It is no longer just a functional material, it is a design language. Through this experience, we are showcasing how decades of engineering expertise can evolve into artistic expression, where mesh becomes art.”

Mesh Museum draws inspiration from YKM’s four decades of global manufacturing expertise and its advanced R&D capabilities, showcasing how innovation was at the heart of every piece displayed throughout the evening. Each installation was backed by advanced weaving techniques, material experimentation, surface treatments, and precision engineering, developed through Mesh Museum’s in-house R&D and laboratory testing facilities.

The initiative demonstrated how precision manufacturing can coexist with artistic expression and contemporary design narratives. Unlike traditional design showcases that focus on finished products, the Mesh Museum was conceived as a walk-through gallery. Guests were captivated by the installations as the event took them on a multi-sensory experience through curated mesh artwork, framed mesh prints, partition screens, furniture, and architectural installations.

The museum encouraged visitors to observe light play, touch textures, and perceive depth and movement created by layered mesh compositions. Emotionally, the exhibition evoked curiosity, calm, reflection, and inspiration.

Going beyond a single event, the Mesh Museum aims to contribute to the regional design of dialogue by challenging conventional boundaries and supporting the evolution of experiential design in the Middle East. By blending art, architecture, and engineering, Mesh Museum plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of experiential design in the Middle East, aligning with the region’s growing emphasis on innovation, culture, and meaningful spatial experiences.

Elaborating on the UAE’s importance and the brand’s future direction, S. Mohammad Karvanian said: “We chose the UAE as our regional headquarters because it is a leading and strategic hub in the region, offering a dynamic environment that supports innovation, creativity, and global business growth. It provides a highly secure and inspiring environment for global companies to invest, innovate, and discover new concepts.”

“Our future plans for the brand include collaborating with fine artists to introduce a completely new concept to the market—one that connects industry with art, and art with human emotion. Our artworks are created from woven metal mesh, not through printing, painting, laser cutting, or 3D methods,” added Karvanian.

Notably, the exhibition took a collaborative approach and encouraged designers, architects, and developers to explore mesh as a versatile, sustainable, and expressive design element. Future expansions may include new collections, thematic editions, international showcases, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, reinforcing Mesh Museum as a living design concept.
