Marisa Kamall, founder of GAIA, shares the inspiration behind ChatGPShe

As artificial intelligence becomes a bigger part of everyday work and life, it is important that everyone has a voice in how it is used. ChatGPShe is an initiative created to help women confidently engage with AI and shape its future. In a follow-up conversation with Emirates Reporter, Marisa Kamall, founder of GAIA, shares why ChatGPShe was started, why the free toolkit was launched on National Download Day, and how it is designed to help women use AI in a practical, ethical, and empowering way.

ER- What is ChatGPShe, and why did you start it for women?

Marisa –  ChatGPShe was born from a simple but urgent question: whose voices are shaping the future of AI? Artificial intelligence is transforming work, leadership, and creativity, yet data shows that in the early days, up to 80% of ChatGPT users were male, and another report put that figure at 84.5%. If men are shaping most prompts, they’re shaping most outputs—and that creates a technological echo chamber. With ChatGPShe, I wanted to ensure that women are not only part of the AI conversation but are actively shaping it, with inclusivity and ethics at the core.

ER- Why did you choose National Download Day to share this free toolkit?

Marisa –  We’re always downloading something, aren’t we? A new app, that favorite song on Spotify, the meal plan from a website, the PDFs from work emailers, the forms from multiple school WhatsApp groups—how about we download a token that can kickstart our journey into AI? For women balancing careers, family, and everything in between, this toolkit is a practical, empowering way to take control of the AI conversation and turn it into a real advantage at work and beyond. And what could be a better day than this!

ER-How does this toolkit help women use AI with confidence?

Marisa –  Each element of this toolkit has been carefully crafted to help women leaders gain confidence, influence, and practical skills with AI. We want every participant to write the future, one prompt at a time.

ER-Why is it important for women to have a voice in how AI is used?

Marisa –  Historically, AI adoption has skewed male—especially in the early months of ChatGPT, when usage was overwhelmingly dominated by men. That imbalance limits the perspectives AI learns from. The good news is that recent reports suggest the trend is shifting, with women now using ChatGPT slightly more than men. ChatGPShe builds on this momentum by giving women a space to learn together, experiment, and grow in confidence. AI adoption is no longer optional—it’s becoming a core professional skill. But if women don’t have representation in shaping the tools, we risk reinforcing existing inequities. ChatGPShe ensures women are leading, questioning, influencing, and redefining the language and ethics of AI. It’s about shifting from passive users to active creators and decision-makers.

ER-What is one benefit women will get after downloading this toolkit?

Marisa –  The Prompt Like Her Tool Kit is designed specifically for women leaders, addressing professional challenges from managing stakeholders to driving innovation while maintaining inclusive practices. It includes:

● Simple Prompt Formula—craft effective AI prompts quickly

● 50+ Ready-to-Use Prompts—immediately applicable for work scenarios

● Bias Checks & Safety Rules—ensure responsible, inclusive AI use

● 5-Minute Daily Drill & Time-Saving Metrics—measurable results in weeks
