ABU DHABI, UAE, April 11, 2026 — Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, is on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates, during which he engaged with members of the Indian community, reaffirming the Government of India’s strong commitment to their welfare and security.
During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar met with representatives of the Indian diaspora based in the UAE and addressed their concerns amid the ongoing regional strain in West Asia. He highlighted the continuous efforts undertaken by the Government of India to ensure the safety, well-being, and support of its citizens living in the UAE and gulf region, particularly during challenging times.

The minister also expressed appreciation for the Indian community’s resilience and their significant contributions to the UAE’s social and economic fabric. He commended their role in strengthening bilateral ties and maintaining a spirit of cooperation and unity despite the prevailing uncertainties in the region.

Reassuring the diaspora, Dr. Jaishankar emphasized that the Government of India remains fully committed to safeguarding their interests and will continue to extend all necessary support to ensure their safety and stability in the UAE.
The visit underscores the importance India places on its global diaspora and reflects ongoing efforts to maintain close engagement with Indian nationals residing in key international regions.
