Dubai, UAE- Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a regional hub for creativity and cultural dialogue with the launch of the sixth edition of The Art Circle Award 2026, an initiative that will culminate in a public exhibition at Alserkal Avenue, one of the city’s most influential destinations for contemporary art.
Supported by Alserkal, this year’s award opens its doors to UAE-based artists, offering an opportunity to showcase their work before a distinguished panel of curators, collectors, and cultural leaders while contributing to the country’s growing creative landscape.
The exhibition, scheduled for November 2026 at Alserkal Avenue, will present the works of shortlisted finalists, transforming the cultural district into a platform for artistic expression and meaningful dialogue. A Theme That Speaks to the Times
The 2026 edition revolves around the thought-provoking theme:
“On Mending… When the Breaking Is Still Happening.”
Rather than focusing on perfection or complete restoration, the theme encourages artists to reflect on resilience, healing, and the ability to create hope amid uncertainty. It explores how individuals and communities continue moving forward while facing personal, social, and environmental challenges.
Artists are invited to interpret the idea of “mending” through painting and mixed media, using art as a language that connects emotion, memory, identity, and transformation.
Supporting the UAE’s Creative Economy
Initiatives like The Art Circle Award highlight the UAE’s long-term investment in culture as an essential pillar of national development. By creating opportunities for artists to exhibit their work in respected cultural venues such as Alserkal Avenue, the programme contributes to a thriving creative ecosystem that attracts both regional and international audiences.
The winning artist will receive a financial prize, while the selected artwork will become part of The Art Circle Collection, further expanding its exposure through international collaborations and cultural exchanges in 2027.
Open to Artists Across the UAE
Applications are open to UAE nationals and residents aged 18 and above, with submissions accepted until 10 September 2026. Participation is free of charge, and artists may submit paintings or mixed-media works that align with this year’s theme.
