DUBAI, UAE (WITH INPUTS FROM WAM) – Esha Oza will lead a 15 member UAE Women’s Team as the country prepares to make history by hosting the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 for the first time. The tournament begins on August 28 at Dubai International Stadium and will run until September 13, with all matches being played under lights.
UAE have been drawn in Group B alongside former champions Bangladesh, Indonesia and defending champions Sri Lanka.
The UAE team will begin its Asia Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on August 29. The hosts will then face Indonesia on September 4 before taking on Bangladesh on September 8 in their final group stage match.
All matches will begin at 6:30 pm local time, creating a strong evening cricket atmosphere for fans in Dubai. The tournament will move into the knockout stage with the two semi finals scheduled for September 10 and 11. The final will take place on September 13.
The 2026 edition marks an important milestone for UAE cricket as the country hosts the continental tournament for the first time.
UAE and Thailand secured their places in the main tournament after qualifying through the 2026 Asian Cricket Council Premier Women’s Cup, which was held in Malaysia in June.
With Esha Oza leading the side, the UAE will now look to make the most of home conditions and deliver a strong performance on one of the biggest stages in women’s cricket in Asia.
Esha Oza is a UAE women’s international cricketer and one of the prominent players in the UAE women’s cricket team.
She is known for her role as a top order batter and team leader, and she has represented the UAE at international level. For the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, she is set to captain the UAE side in the historic tournament being hosted in Dubai.
