Dubai, UAE- As the UAE ushers in 2026, industry experts project a robust hiring outlook of approximately 64% across the key sectors. This positive outlook is attributed to continued business expansion, tech advancements, infrastructure development, emerging industries and ongoing innovation-led initiatives.

“Automotive and Transport are expected to lead the hiring demand in 2026 with an estimated 80% positive outlook in 2026 driven by EV adoption, smart mobility and transport infrastructure expansion,” said Ravi Jethwani, CEO, Innovations Group.

“Several other sectors are expected to maintain a robust hiring outlook including Finance & Insurance at 70-75%, Technology and Digital Service 65–70%, Construction & Real Estate 55–65% and Hospitality & Tourism at 60-65%,” shared Jethwani.

According to the experts, another factor is global economic uncertainty, which continues to influence hiring behavior across the region. However, rather than freezing recruitment, organizations are becoming more selective, prioritizing fewer but higher-impact roles

Nisha Nair, Recruitment Manager, Innovations Group

Hiring demand is increasingly focused on roles that directly support business growth and long-term resilience. “Employers across the UAE and the wider region have become far more intentional about who they hire and why,” said Nisha Nair, Recruitment Manager at Innovations Group. “Today’s preferred candidates, who combine technical expertise with adaptability and commercial awareness are the most in demand in today’s rapidly changing environment,” added Nair.

Is AI really a threat to jobs?

Amid intensifying competition among candidates – the rise of AI is also emerging as a key disruptor in the hiring landscape.

“Technological disruption, particularly AI, is often misunderstood as a threat to jobs. While routine tasks are being automated, the need for human judgment, leadership, compliance oversight, and strategic thinking has increased. In the GCC, technology is acting as a productivity multiplier, not a replacement for talent,” said Nair.

How AI is reshaping hiring in 2026 in UAE

Unlike traditional recruitment methods, the recruitment agencies in UAE are using AI-powered tools to increase the hiring operations. These technologies are being used:

  • Analyzing large volumes of candidates’ data
  • Recommend suitable profiles
  • Streamlining initial screenings while reducing human error.

Overall, the UAE’s hiring outlook for 2026 is expected to be more future focused, pragmatic, and skill driven. Companies that align talent strategy with innovation and long-term national priorities will continue to attract and retain the strongest professionals.
