Dubai, UAE- Senior legal consultant MOHAMED A. HAMEED, AL Midfa & Associates LLC (advocates & legal consultants) speaks Exclusively to Emirates Reporter on the newly launched Dubai Police Lawyers’ Platform, sharing insights on how this 24/7 digital tool is transforming legal practice, improving efficiency, and supporting the UAE’s zero-bureaucracy vision.

E.R- How do you see the 24/7 Dubai Police Lawyers’ Platform changing the way legal work is handled in the UAE, especially in urgent or time-sensitive cases?

MOHAMED- This platform represents a qualitative shift in legal practice, particularly in urgent cases that require immediate intervention, such as criminal complaints, arrest orders, or detention-related procedures. Round-the-clock access enables lawyers to take prompt action without being restricted by official working hours, thereby strengthening the protection of litigants’ rights and accelerating the delivery of justice.

E.R- Several digital legal services have recently been introduced. Which of the seven services do you believe will have the greatest impact on lawyers’ day-to-day practice, and why?

MOHAMED– I believe that direct communication with competent authorities and electronic tracking of requests will have the greatest impact, as they save time and effort, enhance procedural transparency, and significantly reduce the need for in-person visits, ultimately improving lawyers’ daily efficiency and productivity.

E.R- Do you think secure UAE Pass access and digital signing of powers of attorney will significantly reduce delays and paperwork in criminal and procedural matters?

MOHAMED– Yes, significantly. The adoption of UAE Pass and digital signing of powers of attorney is one of the most important digital transformations, as it shortens the time required to authenticate documents, reduces reliance on paperwork, and minimizes delays caused by traditional attestation procedures—particularly in criminal cases where speed and accuracy are essential.

E.R-From a lawyer’s perspective, how important is the personalised dashboard feature in managing multiple cases, clients, and consultants efficiently?

MOHAMED– The personalised dashboard is a vital tool for lawyers, as it allows them to monitor cases, requests, and deadlines from a single platform. It enhances organization, reduces the risk of oversight or error, and supports professional and efficient case management.

E.R- In your view, does this platform bring the UAE closer to its zero-bureaucracy vision? How? And what further digital improvements would you like to see for legal professionals?

MOHAMED– Undoubtedly, the platform directly contributes to achieving the zero-bureaucracy vision by reducing manual procedures, accelerating transactions, and digitally connecting lawyers with relevant authorities. Future enhancements could include broader integration with the Public Prosecution and courts, as well as real-time notifications for all procedural updates.

E.R- Your Final comments on this platform.

MOHAMED– The Dubai Police Lawyers’ Platform is a pioneering initiative that reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing the justice system and empowering lawyers with smart tools that keep pace with digital transformation, enhance efficiency, and support the swift administration of justice in line with the UAE’s future vision.
