Dubai, UAE- The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai has asked hotels across the emirate to support guests who cannot leave the country because of recent travel disruptions. Under this guidance, hotels are being told to let visitors extend their stays under the same booking conditions they already have β meaning they should not be forced to check out early if they cannot catch a flight home.
This move is part of a wider effort by UAE authorities to protect the safety and comfort of all people in the country, including tourists and transit passengers, amid ongoing regional tensions. Representatives from the Department said ensuring the well-being of visitors remains a top priority, and that hotels should cooperate fully to make sure no one is left without accommodation.
In addition, hotels are told to inform the authorities if a guest is unable to pay for the extended stay, so that appropriate solutions can be arranged. The goal is to avoid situations where travellers feel rushed or stressed because they cannot depart due to circumstances beyond their control.
At the same time, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed that the UAE government is covering accommodation and basic needs for many people who are stranded due to airport closures. This includes helping with meals and hotel costs for those affected while the airspace situation is resolved.
These steps show that the UAE is taking a coordinated approach to keep visitors safe and cared for, even during times when travel plans are disrupted by events outside anyoneβs control.
