Dubai, UAE– Across many homes in the region, Ramadan through to Eid is a time for reflection, reconnection and reviving cherished traditions. It is also a season centered around gathering with loved ones and hosting at home.

This Eid, set the scene throughout your interior by creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere from atmospheric lighting and reimagined indoor or outdoor majlis settings, to subtle arabesque touches in both décor and table-scaping.

Make a first impression

Spruce up your entrance to set the mood straightaway for visiting guests. Begin with a statement chair or bench styled with festive inspired cushions, such as Sedar’s Swarovski inspired crescent moon motif design or The Metropolitan Museum of Art x Sedar Global collaborative pillow, window décor or wallpaper collections, incorporating prints inspired by famous artworks and reflecting the spirit of the season.

Add a console table and position central or against a wall in your entryway that can hold a metal tray loaded with dates. Adding a diffuser or incense burner for an aromatic ambience and floor lanterns or candle stands to lead the way.

Nahel Selo Creative Director at Sedar Global adds “This is not a permanent addition to the home so can be as subtle or elaborate as you choose, my advice is to pick three colourways as well as one metallic, or wood tone you will use and work them from entry hall throughout the home for cohesive feel.

Contemporary, rustic or Khaleeji Interiors

Before getting started, he advises selecting the overall style and color palette you would like to follow. Whether it is a contemporary look featuring the season’s favoured pastel and sage green hues with gold accents; a minimalist Bedouin-inspired aesthetic focused on contrasting textures and textiles using Arabian geometric patterned throws, rugs and cushions; or a Moroccan-inspired setting incorporating tile, ogee and latticework motifs, indulgent drapes and vibrant colours.

For a Khaleeji-inspired interior, subtle Turkish influences can be introduced through accessories inspired by Islamic architecture from the Levantine period, using luxurious materials such as silk and brocade.

Or a rustic, organic and modern majlis reflecting Dubai’s city and desert landscape by working with earthy tones, natural fabrics and light finishes, paired with faded gold or brass accents, weathered wood and greenery.

Indoor & Outdoor Ramadan home tents and majlis-style seating

Recreate the magic of a majlis or Eid home tent within your own space.

“You can create an arabesque-style lounge area for your family to socialise without spending a fortune,” says Nahel Selo.

A simple tepee can be created indoors or in the garden using sheer or linen curtains. For larger outdoor hosting, a pergola or awning installation can add both shade and structure.

True to the heritage of a traditional majlis, divide social areas using low seating arrangements such as ottomans and poufs, layered with floor cushions and rugs.

Selo comments, “At Sedar, we offer a range of themed designs and can customise curtain drapes, install awnings and pergolas, and create oversizedcushions mixed with medium and smaller styles in different shapes and textures to complete a festive, modern look.”

Add Arabesque touches to the home

Introducing a few carefully selected decorative elements can gently signal the arrival of Eid. Temporary wall features, such as Arabic calligraphy-inspired brass accessories, mirrored objects that reflect light, Islamic-inspired printed fabrics and lanterns are all ideal for creating a memorable entertaining space that captures the spirit of the month.

Decorative cushions and throws help to soften and anchor the space, while a beautifully patterned rug adds warmth and visual interest.

Mix traditional flashes of gold or brass with trending colour palettes for 2026, including turquoise, royal blue and dusky pink. These accents can be introduced through wallpaper panels, embroidered details on cushions and layered drapery.

Work with mirrors and reflective surfaces to amplify metallic finishes and create a warm, glowing ambience.

Creative Director Nahel Selo comments, “Adding metallics, specifically gold and brass, is not only a nod to tradition but is also essential in creating a festive mood. For 2026, worn and brushed brass or soft gold finishes bring an earthy and contemporary feel.”

Creative table scaping & atmospheric lighting

Elevate your gatherings by styling your dining table with thoughtful table-scaping. Incorporate metallic, arabesque or lunar-inspired accents through cutlery, napkin rings and dinnerware, alongside jute placemats, table runners, mini lanterns and dried or fresh florals.

A carefully curated table arrangement can transform an everyday setting into a celebratory Eid experience.

Selo adds, “Atmospheric lighting is key, from battery-operated fairy lights and tall lanterns to wax candles and tea lights. Lighting accessories are a cost-effective way to set the mood.”
