Dubai, UAE- As businesses across the Middle East accelerate digital transformation, the demand for secure, intelligent, and efficient workplace technologies continues to grow. FUJIFILM Business Innovation is positioning itself at the forefront of this shift by expanding its Office Printing and document infrastructure solutions across key regional markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Egypt.
From cybersecurity-focused document management to sustainable workflow solutions and hybrid workplace integration, the company is redefining how organisations manage information in an increasingly connected business environment.
EmiratesReporter.com had an opportunity to engage in an exclusive conversation with Kazuhiko Kiji, Division Manager, FUJIFILM Middle East & Africa to discuss the company’s regional strategy, enterprise security priorities, digital workplace evolution, and future growth plans across the Middle East.
E.R- FUJIFILM Business Innovation is widely recognized for imaging technology. How does the Office Printing division fit into the company’s broader regional strategy?
Kazuhiko Kiji– FUJIFILM Business Innovation has evolved significantly over the years, expanding beyond its traditional imaging heritage to become a broader business solutions and workplace technology partner. The Office Printing division is a key part of this evolution, supporting organisations with secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade document infrastructure solutions.
Across the Middle East, we are seeing growing demand from businesses and institutions for smarter and more integrated document workflows that improve operational efficiency, strengthen security, and support digital transformation objectives. Our strategy is focused on helping organisations modernise the way they manage information while maintaining reliability, governance, and sustainability at the core of their operations.
E.R-. Why is the Middle East an important market for the expansion of the Office Printing business?
Kazuhiko Kiji– The Middle East continues to be a highly dynamic and fast-evolving business environment, particularly in markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where digital transformation and infrastructure development remain key national priorities.
Organisations across sectors are increasingly investing in technologies that improve workflow efficiency, business continuity, and data security. This creates strong opportunities for advanced document and print solutions that go beyond traditional printing and support wider operational transformation.
Our regional strategy places particular focus on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Egypt, where we continue to strengthen our presence through strategic partnerships and customer-focused solutions tailored to local market requirements.
E.R- How are enterprise expectations around office printing and document infrastructure changing today?
Kazuhiko Kiji– Office printing today is no longer viewed as a standalone operational function. Organisations are increasingly looking at document infrastructure as part of a broader ecosystem linked to cybersecurity, governance, compliance, and workflow optimisation.
There is growing emphasis on secure access, traceability, cloud connectivity, and the ability to manage workflows efficiently across multiple locations and hybrid working environments. In today’s hybrid and remote work landscape, devices must connect securely with cloud services, protecting documents whether they are being processed at the office or from a home workspace. Businesses want solutions that are reliable, easy to manage, and integrated into their wider digital operations, with capabilities such as password-protected PDFs, timed print restrictions, and multi-level authentication to reduce risks from both cyberattacks and human error.
As a result, document infrastructure is becoming a more strategic business consideration rather than simply an administrative requirement. Security is no longer an add-on. It must be built into devices from the ground up, protecting data at every stage of the document lifecycle.
E.R- Cybersecurity has become a growing concern for organisations globally. How does this influence demand for document solutions?
Kazuhiko Kiji– Cybersecurity and operational resilience are increasingly shaping enterprise technology decisions across the region. Many organisations are reassessing how information is accessed, shared, printed, and stored, particularly when dealing with sensitive or business-critical data.
This is driving stronger demand for secure document environments with features such as user authentication, controlled access, auditability, and secure workflow management. Our Apeos devices address this directly. From the moment a device powers on, it runs self-checks for tampering, and if irregularities are detected, the system automatically restores itself to a safe state to ensure uninterrupted operations. Every Apeos MFP also includes a TPM 2.0 chip that acts as a secure vault for encryption keys, passwords, and sensitive files, ensuring that confidential HR reports, signed contracts, or financial records are protected at every stage. Security is not solely digital either. Secure Watermark technology embeds invisible codes in documents to restrict unauthorised copying, scanning, or faxing, and enables traceability if a document is ever leaked. Companies are looking for solutions that support both productivity and stronger governance standards.
At FUJIFILM Business Innovation, security and reliability remain central considerations in how we develop and position our solutions for enterprise customers. This commitment is backed by internationally recognised certifications, including Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408), ISO/IEC 20243 for supply chain integrity, FIPS and NIST encryption standards, and the BLI Security Seal awarded by Keypoint Intelligence for device penetration resistance. These certifications provide organisations with independent assurance that our solutions meet the highest global security benchmarks.
E.R- Sustainability is also becoming a priority for businesses. How is this reflected in FUJIFILM Business Innovation’s approach?
Kazuhiko Kiji– Sustainability is an increasingly important consideration for organisations across both the public and private sectors. Businesses are looking for technologies that help reduce waste, optimise energy usage, and support more responsible operational practices.
Our approach focuses on helping customers improve efficiency while also supporting environmental objectives through smarter workflow management, reduced paper dependency, and energy-conscious technologies.
We see sustainability not as a separate initiative, but as an integrated part of modern workplace transformation and long-term operational strategy.
E.R- How important are partnerships in supporting FUJIFILM Business Innovation’s regional growth?
Kazuhiko Kiji– Strategic partnerships play a very important role in our regional approach. The Middle East is a diverse market, and having strong local partners enables us to provide tailored deployment, operational support, and long-term customer engagement across different sectors and geographies.
Our regional expansion is supported through partnerships including Managed Printer Services, a Gulf Commercial Group company in the UAE, Gulf Business Solutions in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman Computer Network Systems in Oman, and PackPro in Egypt. These collaborations strengthen our ability to support organisations with complex and multi-site operational requirements while maintaining service quality and responsiveness.
E.R- What are the key priorities for FUJIFILM Business Innovation moving forward in the region?
Kazuhiko Kiji– Our focus is on continuing to strengthen our position as a trusted business innovation partner across the Middle East. This includes expanding awareness of our enterprise capabilities, deepening customer engagement, and supporting organisations as they modernise their workplace and document infrastructure.
We also see significant opportunity in helping businesses navigate evolving operational challenges linked to digital transformation, cybersecurity, workflow optimization, and sustainability.
Ultimately, our objective is to support organisations with solutions that combine efficiency, security, reliability, and long-term business value.
